Cohiba

Cohiba is the one cigar name even people who have never smoked can recognize. The word itself comes from the Taíno people of the Caribbean, who used it for the rolled tobacco leaves they smoked long before Europeans arrived. In the United States, Cohiba is made by General Cigar in the Dominican Republic, a separate brand from the Cuban one, with its own following and its own blends. Its classic Red Dot pairs a toothy Cameroon wrapper with aged Dominican Piloto Cubano filler for a smooth, medium-bodied smoke. From there the line climbs: the Macassar in its ebony-wood box, the full-bodied Royale, the bold Nicaragua, each built for a sense of occasion.
