Description

United Cigars launched the Firecracker in 2006 as a small cigar with a big hit, and the twisted fuse cap on the head is where the name comes from. It is handmade in the Dominican Republic at Magia Cubana in Santiago.

An Ecuadorian sun grown wrapper covers a Dominican Criollo binder and Dominican ligero filler. The closed foot opens on black pepper, then settles into earth and warm seasoning spice with leather and cedar behind it. At 3 1/2 by 50 it is a short smoke that does not taste like one.

Ligero is the top priming on the plant, the leaf that gets the most sun and carries the most strength. Using it through a cigar this short is what keeps the intensity up when there is not much length to build on.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
