Flor de las Antillas Robusto 5″ * 50

The Flor de las Antillas Robusto is a sun grown-wrapped box-pressed robusto from Flor de, handmade in Nicaragua. Flor de las Antillas, from My Father, was Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year in 2012.

It blends a Nicaraguan Sun Grown wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler at a medium to full body, leading with cedar, black pepper, leather, and a toasty, sweet spice. At 5 by 50, the box press gives it crisp edges and a slow, even burn.

The box press is done after rolling, with the cigars stacked under pressure in the box. Besides the look, it tightens the draw slightly and slows the burn.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
