Description

Foundation’s Aksum is Nick Melillo’s first Ecuadorian-Sumatra-wrapped blend, named for an ancient African kingdom. The Foundation Aksum Claro Robusto sets that Sumatra wrapper over a Connecticut broadleaf binder and Nicaraguan filler, box-pressed at a medium to full body.

The flavor usually leans toward cedar, coffee, nuts, and a sweet, peppery edge. It was named No. 12 in Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigars of 2024. At 5 by 50, the box-pressed robusto burns evenly and slow.

The medium to full body suits later in the day. It is sold as singles or boxes of 10, so a single is an easy way to try the size that placed. A recently recognized Foundation blend.
