The Foundation Charter Oak Connecticut Rothschild is a Connecticut-wrapped robusto from Nicholas Melillo’s Foundation Cigar Co., handmade in Nicaragua. Nicholas Melillo spent years sourcing Nicaraguan leaf before founding the brand.

It blends a Connecticut Shade wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler at a mild to medium body, leading with cream, cedar, blanched almond, and a gentle white-pepper snap. At 4 1/4 by 50, it burns cool and even.

Mild to medium, it is an easy daytime cigar. A characterful Nicaraguan from Foundation.

Pairs well with coffee, cream ale, or amber ale.
