Description

The Foundation Charter Oak Habano Grande is a Habano-wrapped gordo from Nicholas Melillo’s Foundation Cigar Co., handmade in Nicaragua. Nicholas Melillo spent years sourcing Nicaraguan leaf before founding the brand.

It blends an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler at a medium body, leading with cedar, black pepper, espresso, and a sweet, leathery spice. At 6 by 60, the thick format holds a lot of tobacco, which means a long, cool burn and a blend with time to show all of itself.

Habano 2000 is a hybrid Cuba bred in the 1990s to resist blue mould. The Habano on most bands outside Cuba is the older seed line, raised from stock that left the island decades earlier.
