Description

Foundation named the Olmec line after the ancient Mesoamerican people of southern Mexico, and the Maduro Grande is its thick, box-pressed gordo. Blended by founder Nick Melillo and made by AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua, the Foundation Olmec Maduro Grande sets a dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler for a full-bodied smoke.

Its filler is bale-aged for three years and the wrapper for two before rolling. The flavor usually opens with earth and black pepper, then moves toward cocoa and coffee as it burns. Ranked No. 22 in Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigars of 2025, the Grande is a recent placement for the size, which measures 6 by 60.

Given the full body, it suits a later, unhurried sit rather than a short break. It is stocked as singles or boxes of 12, so a single is an easy way to try it before a box. A heavy, slow-burning maduro built for a long evening smoke.
