Released in 2016 to celebrate the 90th birthday of Padron founder Jose Orlando Padron, the 1926 Serie No. 90 broke with line tradition by arriving in a round shape inside an aluminum tubo rather than the usual box-pressed format.

The cigar is a Nicaraguan puro, pairing a Cuban-seed Nicaraguan natural wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan long-filler, all aged a minimum of five years before rolling. Production runs at Tabacos Cubanica in Estelí, Nicaragua, under the Padron family. The No. 90 Tubo Natural measures 5 1/2 by 52 and ships in 10-count boxes, with each cigar carrying an individually numbered double-band guarantee seal.

The flavor tends to lean toward cedar, toasted almond, and natural tobacco sweetness up front, with cocoa, light espresso, and a measured black pepper filling in through the middle and a creamy, slightly earthy finish. Body sits at medium-to-full. Rated 94 by Cigar Aficionado. The round format and tube packaging make it one of the few non-box-pressed cigars in the Padron Anniversary lineup.

Pairs well with cognac, espresso, or aged rum.
