Padron 1964 Anniversary Principe Maduro 4 1/2″ * 46

Shorter in length, this vitola keeps the 1964 Maduro profile firm and concentrated from the outset.

Padron 1964 Anniversary Principe Maduro is a Nicaraguan 4 1/2 x 46 box-pressed cigar from the 1964 Anniversary Series, released in 1994 to mark Padron’s 30th anniversary. Like the rest of the line, it is made with tobacco aged four years, with the smaller format giving the blend a more direct presentation than the longer sizes.

The flavor usually starts with cocoa, cedar, toast, and coffee, then moves toward earth, nuts, and a measured touch of pepper as it goes. Principe fits well earlier in the evening when a shorter format makes more sense, and it also suits smokers who like a narrower ring gauge with a more focused feel. Within the 1964 Maduro line, this is the compact vitola that still carries the same darker, drier character the series is known for.

Pair it with black coffee, sparkling water, or unsweetened iced tea.
