The Toro is the standard size in Perla del Mar’s dark Maduro. Made by J.C. Newman in Estelí, Nicaragua, the Perla del Mar Maduro Toro wraps Nicaraguan binder and filler in a Connecticut broadleaf maduro leaf, box-pressed at a medium to full body.

The flavor usually moves toward dark chocolate, coffee, earth, and a subtle sweetness. At 6 1/4 by 54, the box-pressed toro gives a long, even burn.

The medium to full body suits later in the day or a longer sit. It is sold as singles or boxes of 25, so one is an easy first taste. A dark, everyday Nicaraguan-made maduro.
