Description

A wider, shorter version of the original La Aroma de Cuba blend, the Immensa shifts the recipe into a 60 ring gauge format.

The cigar uses a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan long-filler, hand-rolled at My Father Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua. The current blend was developed by Don Pepin Garcia in 2009 as a reworking of the line that originally launched in 2002. The Immensa measures 5 1/2 by 60 and ships in boxes of 24.

Expect cedar, cocoa, and earth at the start, with leather and a molasses-like sweetness from the Broadleaf carrying through the middle, then a peppery, slightly toasty finish. Body sits in the medium-to-full range. Rated 93 by Cigar Aficionado. The wide ring gauge increases the ratio of filler to wrapper, which softens the spice and lets the Broadleaf sweetness come forward more than in the slimmer formats. The short length keeps the burn closer to an hour despite the gauge.
