A short, wide everyday format in the Quorum Maduro range, the Robusto is one of the line’s most stocked sizes.

J.C. Newman’s value-tier Maduro blend uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra Sun Grown Maduro wrapper over a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, with Nicaraguan filler tobacco rolled in a Cuban sandwich construction at the PENSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Body sits in the medium range. The Robusto measures 4 3/4 by 50 and ships in bundles of 20.

Expect dark chocolate and cedar at the start, with leather, coffee, and a soft pepper through the middle before a finish carrying earth and a touch of natural sweetness. The Broadleaf binder pulls some of the deeper cocoa character forward, while the Sumatra wrapper keeps the sweeter side of the maduro spectrum in play across the burn. The 50 ring gauge holds the wrapper and filler in close balance, with the shorter length keeping the flavors steady from light to nub. The format runs about 45 minutes to an hour.
