The cigar is hand-rolled at the PENSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, in a Cuban sandwich construction that combines long-filler with short-filler scraps from the factory’s other production. An Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper covers a Sumatra Sungrown binder and Nicaraguan filler, with each bundle going through J.C. Newman’s four-step quality control inspection. The Robusto measures 4 3/4 by 50, ships in 20-count bundles, and sits at mild body.

Expect cream, cedar, and a touch of buttered toast at the start, with white pepper, almond, and a soft grain note running through the middle before a finish carrying dry wood and a clean close. The 50 ring gauge holds the wrapper and filler in close balance, with the shorter length keeping the flavors steady from light to nub. The format fits a 45-minute to one-hour break.
