Description

San Cristobal takes its name from San Cristobal de La Habana, the full original name of the city of Havana. Ashton owns the brand and the Garcia family makes it at My Father in Esteli.

An Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper covers Nicaraguan binder and filler, medium in body. Expect cedar and espresso up front, leather and sweet spice through the middle, and cocoa on the finish. At 7 by 50, the length gives the blend room to move rather than repeat itself.

Most Sumatra seed now grows in Ecuador rather than Indonesia, where the steady cloud cover suits it. In weight it sits between a Connecticut and a Habano, which makes it an easy wrapper to build a mid-strength cigar around.

Pairs well with coffee, bourbon, or amber ale.
