The Tabernacle Torpedo 4 1/2″ x 52

The The Tabernacle Torpedo is a broadleaf-wrapped torpedo from Foundation Cigar Co., handmade in Nicaragua. The Tabernacle is Foundation’s Connecticut Broadleaf-wrapped line. The Tabernacle comes from Foundation’s Nicholas Melillo, who spent more than a decade sourcing tobacco for Drew Estate before founding his own company.

It blends a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder and Nicaraguan filler at a full body, leading with cocoa, espresso, black pepper, and a sweet, almost-syrupy dark earth. At 4 1/2 by 52, it burns cool and even.

Broadleaf is grown for thickness rather than looks, and it takes a longer, hotter fermentation than most leaf will survive. The dark sweetness in the smoke is the sugar that process leaves behind.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
