handmade in Nicaragua, the Casa 1910 Cavalry Edition Lucero is a San Andrés-wrapped toro from Casa 1910, a Mexican boutique. Casa 1910 is one of the few premium cigars rolled in Mexico.

It blends a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Mexican binder and Nicaraguan and Mexican filler at a medium to full body, leading with cocoa, espresso, black pepper, and a sweet, almost-syrupy dark earth. At 6 by 54, it burns cool and even.

San Andres is low in sugar and slightly bitter before fermentation. The long sweat is what converts it, which is why a rushed San Andres maduro tastes harsh and a properly done one tastes like dark chocolate.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or mezcal.
