Casa 1910
Casa 1910 set out to prove that Mexican tobacco can carry a whole cigar, not just wrap one. Most makers use Mexican San Andrés leaf only as a wrapper or binder, but this brand, which debuted in 2021, built its name on 100 percent Mexican puros from tobacco grown in the San Andrés Valley of Veracruz. The name marks 1910, the year the Mexican Revolution began.
Founded by Manolo Santiago, who handled Habanos marketing in Mexico, with partners Jamie Baer and Serge Bolling, Casa 1910 names its lines for the Revolution: the Revolutionary Edition for its first battles, the Cavalry Edition for the horses Pancho Villa and Zapata rode. Built around dark San Andrés Negro and aged before and after rolling, Casa 1910 cigars run medium to full, with cocoa, earth, and pepper.
