Description

The Crowned Heads Broadway Toro is a broadleaf-wrapped toro from Crowned Heads, handmade in Nicaragua. Crowned Heads partners with top factories on small, carefully curated releases.

It blends a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a Nicaraguan Jalapa binder and Nicaraguan filler at a medium to full body, leading with cocoa, espresso, black pepper, and a sweet, almost-syrupy dark earth. At 6 1/2 by 54, it burns cool and even.

Broadleaf gets its name honestly. The plant grows wide, low leaves in full sun, and the whole stalk is cut and hung to cure, leaf and stem together, which lets the sugars move around inside the plant as it dries.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
