Crowned Heads is a Nashville cigar company built on storytelling. It was founded in 2011 by Jon Huber and Mike Conder, two former CAO executives who left when that company was absorbed in a merger and decided to make their own rules. The name comes from Professor Marvel’s wagon in The Wizard of Oz, “acclaimed by the crowned heads of Europe.”
Crowned Heads owns no factory. Instead it designs blends and has them made by some of the best in the business, including My Father and Ernesto Pérez-Carrillo’s Tabacalera La Alianza. The debut, Four Kicks, took its name from a Kings of Leon song, and many lines since nod to music and culture, like the annual Las Calaveras. Boutique and buzzy, Crowned Heads cigars pair sharp blending with sharper branding.
