Description

The EP Carrillo La Historia El Senador is a San Andrés-wrapped robusto from Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s E.P. Carrillo, handmade in the Dominican Republic. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo built the brand after decades shaping modern premium cigars.

It blends a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan filler at a medium to full body, leading with cocoa, espresso, black pepper, and a sweet, almost-syrupy dark earth. At 5 3/8 by 52, it burns cool and even.

The San Andres valley sits inland from the Gulf coast of Veracruz on volcanic soil, which is where the earthy, faintly mineral edge underneath the cocoa comes from.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
