Description

Handmade in the Dominican Republic, the Gurkha Cellar Reserve 15 Year Edicion Especial Prisoner Churchill is a 7 by 54 built entirely from Dominican tobacco aged fifteen years.

An oily Criollo ’98 wrapper sits over an aged Dominican Olor binder and fifteen-year Dominican filler, medium to full, leading with cedar, cocoa, espresso and leather. Long ageing is what takes the ammonia and the sharp edges out of leaf, so this arrives smooth without arriving weak.

Prisoner is Gurkha’s name for the churchill in this line rather than a separate blend. The 54 ring gauge gives the aged filler room to show, which is where the cedar and espresso come from, and it burns cool over the length of a churchill.

Boxes of 20, coopered like a small wine barrel. Pairs well with aged rum, coffee, or a bourbon with some age on it.
