Southern Draw Morning Glory Gordo 6 1/2″ x 60

The Southern Draw Morning Glory Gordo is a 6 1/2 x 60 gordo from Robert Holt’s Southern Draw, blended by Holt himself. It is made at AJ Fernandez Cigar Co. in Estelí, Nicaragua, and was released in late 2024.

A light Claro Connecticut wrapper grown in the USA covers a Nicaraguan Habano Hybrid binder and Corojo 99 and Criollo 98 filler from Nicaragua. Southern Draw calls it a smooth, mellow to medium bodied smoke with roasted nuts, cream, buttered toast, baking spices, cocoa and cedar.

The name comes from the Heavenly Blue morning glory, a flower that opens in the early morning and closes for good by mid afternoon. The Gordo is the largest of the line’s three sizes, next to the 5 1/2 x 54 Robusto and the 6 x 52 Toro.

Pairs well with coffee, cream ale, or amber ale.
