The Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro is a maduro-wrapped box-pressed torpedo from Rafael Nodal’s Aging Room, handmade in Nicaragua. Aging Room rests its tobacco before release and names its sizes after musical terms.

It blends a Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler at a medium to full body, leading with cocoa, espresso, black pepper, and a sweet, almost-syrupy dark earth. At 6 by 52, the box press gives it crisp edges and a slow, even burn.

Maduro is a process, not a plant. The leaf is fermented longer and hotter until the sugars come forward, which is why maduro wrappers read sweet and dark rather than simply strong.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
