No. 2 gives Don Carlos a broader pyramid shape that opens slowly and gains weight as it settles in.
Arturo Fuente Don Carlos No. 2 is a Dominican torpedo from the Don Carlos line, made with a Cameroon wrapper over Dominican binder and filler. Carlos Fuente Jr. blended the line in honor of Carlos Fuente Sr., and this vitola first reached the market in 1997.
The flavor usually starts reserved, then moves toward cedar, nuts, cocoa, and a little spice once the wider body opens up. At 6 x 55, it is one of the fuller-feeling regular Don Carlos sizes and fits a longer session more naturally than the slimmer parejos in the line. Ranked No. 6 in Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigars of 2013.
Pair with black coffee, aged rum, or sparkling water.
