Blackened is Drew Estate’s collaboration with Metallica’s James Hetfield and master distiller Rob Dietrich, and the S84 Shade to Black is its medium, shade-wrapped blend. The Blackened S84 Shade to Black Toro is made in Nicaragua with an Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper over a Connecticut broadleaf binder and Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania filler, at a medium body.

The flavor usually leans toward espresso, dark chocolate, and leather, with a soft creaminess from the shade wrapper. At 6 by 52, the toro gives a long, even burn.
