Foundation 10 Year Aniversario Salomon 7″ * 58

Released in late 2025 to mark Foundation Cigar Co.’s tenth anniversary, the 10 Year Aniversario was developed by founder Nicholas Melillo as a tribute to his Connecticut roots and his long working relationship with AJ Fernandez.

The cigar is produced at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua, using a hybrid wrapper grown in the Connecticut River Valley from a cross of Broadleaf and Habano seed, a Brazilian Mata Fina binder, and an all-Nicaraguan long-filler from Estelí, Jalapa, and Condega, with all Nicaraguan tobacco grown on Fernandez’s own farms. It is offered in a single 7 by 58 Salomon vitola, packaged in 10-count boxes limited to 2,000 units and a 20-count swing-open box limited to 750. Body sits in the medium-to-full range.

The tapered foot opens with cedar and dark chocolate, with espresso, earth, and baking spice filling in across the wider midsection and a finish that holds onto cocoa, oak, and black pepper as the cigar develops. The combination of the Salomon shape and the dense Mata Fina binder produces an extended burn that often runs past three hours, suiting a long evening session rather than anything brief.
