Description

The Oro sits near the top of La Flor Dominicana’s range. It ran as a five-count box of gold tubes from 2012 until 2025, when LFD added plain 20-count boxes. Same cigar, no tube, easier to keep in a humidor.

The blend runs a high-priming Nicaraguan Habano maduro wrapper over binder and filler grown on Litto Gómez’s own La Canela farm in the Dominican Republic. Expect black pepper and espresso up front, then dark cocoa and a caramel sweetness, closing on leather. At 6 by 54 it burns slow.

The Oro is a Coronado blend underneath, with the wrapper swapped for leaf taken from the higher primings, the leaves nearest the top of the plant that get the most sun and carry the most strength. That one change is what pushes it past the house Connecticut lines.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or stout.
