Description

Handmade in Nicaragua, the Oliva Serie V 135th Anniversary Edicion Limitada honors 1886, the year Melanio Oliva first grew tobacco in Cuba’s Pinar del Río, which the family counts as its start in tobacco. First released in 2021, it is now a limited annual release, packed 12 to a box in a fan shape.

It uses the regular Serie V blend: a high priming Ecuadorian Habano sun grown wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and long filler, with specially fermented Jalapa Valley ligero. Oliva describes rich coffee and dark chocolate tones with a subtle, well balanced spice.

At 5 1/2 x 54, it has a regular round cap and a foot that tapers to a narrow point, so it lights at a slim tip and opens up to the full 54 ring.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso or tawny port.
