Description

Nick Melillo made The Tabernacle the first blend under his own Foundation name. The David and Goliath perfectos came later, a return to the perfecto, the classic shape for Connecticut leaf in the 1940s and 50s. The Goliath is the bigger of the two.

A dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper covers a Mexican San Andres binder over Nicaraguan filler from Esteli and Jalapa and Honduran filler from Jamastran, medium to full in body. Expect dark chocolate over earth, touches of hickory and peanut butter, and toast on the finish. The tapered foot lights small, and the smoke fills out as the burn reaches the full 58 ring.

It is rolled at AJ Fernandez’s factory in Nicaragua and packed 25 to a box.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
