handmade in the Dominican Republic, the Casa 1910 Soldadera Edition Sampetrina Robusto is a Habano-wrapped robusto from Casa 1910, a Mexican boutique. Casa 1910 is one of the few premium cigars rolled in Mexico.

It blends an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Dominican and Mexican binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler at a medium to full body, leading with cedar, black pepper, espresso, and a sweet, leathery spice. At 5 by 50, it burns cool and even.

Habano seed left Cuba in the 1960s with the growers who left after the revolution, which is why the same plant now grows in Nicaragua, Honduras and Ecuador, and why so many non-Cuban cigars taste Cuban in outline.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or mezcal.
