From Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s E.P. Carrillo, the EP Carrillo Allegiance Confidant Toro is a Sumatra-wrapped toro, handmade in Nicaragua. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo built the brand after decades shaping modern premium cigars.

It blends an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Nicaraguan Habano binder and Nicaraguan filler at a medium to full body, leading with earth, cedar, coffee, and a peppery, faintly sweet finish. At 6 by 52, it burns cool and even.

Sumatra seed leaf, now grown mostly in Ecuador rather than Indonesia, is the quiet workhorse of the wrapper world: earthy and faintly sweet, with far less pepper than a Habano.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
