Flor de las Antillas Maduro Toro 6″ x 52

Handmade in Nicaragua, the Flor de las Antillas Maduro Toro is an oscuro-wrapped toro from Flor de. Flor de las Antillas, from My Father, was Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year in 2012.

It blends an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler at a medium to full body, leading with cocoa, espresso, black pepper, and a sweet, almost-syrupy dark earth. At 6 by 52, it burns cool and even.

The same Habano seed grown in Ecuador comes out thinner and more even than in Nicaragua, because the cloud cover there filters sun the way shade cloth does. It is the wrapper of choice when a blender wants Cuban character without the rough edges.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
