Description

The H. Upmann Nicaragua AJ Fernandez Heritage Robusto is a Brazilian Mata Fina-wrapped robusto from AJ Fernandez, handmade in Nicaragua. AJ Fernandez learned to grow and blend tobacco from his grandfather in Cuba before building one of Nicaragua’s most sought-after factories.

It blends a Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan and Brazilian filler at a medium to full body, leading with cedar, coffee, black pepper, and a sweet, earthy core. At 5 by 52, it burns cool and even.

Nicaragua’s cigar industry was built largely by Cuban families who left after 1959, which is why the country’s tobacco tastes closer to Cuba’s than anywhere else outside the island.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
