Espinosa

Espinosa is the brand of Erik Espinosa, one of the most popular boutique makers working in Nicaragua. He spent years brokering and blending, co-founded EO Brands (home of the 601 and Murcielago lines), and in 2012 set out on his own, opening the La Zona factory in Estelí where his cigars are made. Espinosa built his reputation on bold, full-flavored Nicaraguan blends with sharp construction. His benchmark is Laranja Reserva, named for the Portuguese word for orange after its sunset-colored Brazilian wrapper; its Toro earned a 94 and a Top 25 placement from Cigar Aficionado in 2015. The catalog also runs to the 601 series, Crema, and the Guy Fieri collaboration Knuckle Sandwich. Now working alongside his son, Erik keeps the lineup deep and varied.
