My Father

My Father is the house that José “Pepín” García built, a Cuban-style cigar made in Nicaragua by one of the most decorated families in the business. Pepín rolled his first cigar at eleven in Báez, Cuba, where his family had made cigars since the 1930s, and after leaving the island he opened a small Miami factory before moving the operation to Estelí, Nicaragua in 2009. The brand name comes from a blend Pepín’s son Jaime created in his honor. Working with Jaime and daughter Janny, and growing much of their own tobacco, the Garcías chase the old Havana style without Cuban leaf. The approach has won Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year three times, for Flor de las Antillas, Le Bijou 1922, and The Judge. Medium to full and impeccably rolled, My Father cigars are a modern benchmark.
