Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Concerto Vibrato 6″ x 54

From Rafael Nodal’s Aging Room, the Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Concerto Vibrato is a box-pressed toro, handmade in Nicaragua by AJ Fernandez. Aging Room rests its tobacco before release and names its sizes after musical terms.

It pairs a hybrid Criollo ’98 wrapper, grown on AJ Fernandez’s La Lilia farm in Estelí, with a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler from the first harvest of his Los Espejos farm. It sits at a medium to full body, leading with cocoa, espresso, black pepper, and a sweet, almost syrupy dark earth. At 6 by 54, the box press gives it a slow, even burn.

Concerto is named for a piece where a solo instrument plays against the orchestra: the Criollo ’98 wrapper takes the solo, and the aged fillers are the accompaniment. The blend builds on the original Quattro Nicaragua, whose Maestro was Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year in 2019.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
