Padron’s 1926 Series is its flagship line, named for the year José Orlando Padrón was born, and the No. 9 is one of its box-pressed maduros. The Padron 1926 Serie No. 9 Maduro is a Nicaraguan puro under a dark Nicaraguan maduro wrapper, box-pressed at a full body.

The flavor usually centers on cocoa, espresso, and a sweeter dried-fruit edge, steady through the box-pressed body. At 5 1/4 by 56, the thick robusto burns cool and slow.

The full body suits later in the day or after a meal. It is sold as singles or boxes of 10 or 24, so a single is an easy way in. A rich, flagship Padron maduro.
