Ashton
Ashton has never grown a leaf of tobacco or rolled a single cigar, and that is the whole trick. Robert Levin, a Philadelphia tobacconist who grew up in his family’s cigar shop, founded the brand in 1985 and immediately partnered with the Fuente family to produce it. Every Ashton has been made at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic ever since, which puts decades of Fuente craftsmanship behind its own name.
The range runs from the mild, Connecticut-shade Classic to the full-bodied Virgin Sun Grown (VSG) under its dark Ecuadorian wrapper, with the super-premium Estate Sun Grown at the top. The motto, “Trust Your Taste,” says it plainly. Now led by Robert and his son Sathya Levin, Ashton cigars are proof that a great brand can be built on relationships and well-aged tobacco.
