Description

The New World Oscuro Virrey is the thick, box-pressed gordo in the oscuro side of AJ Fernandez’s New World line, made at the family’s Tabacalera Fernández in Estelí, Nicaragua.

It sets a dark Nicaraguan oscuro wrapper over a Nicaraguan Jalapa binder and Nicaraguan filler, at a medium to full body. Expect espresso, dark chocolate, black pepper, and a sweet, earthy finish. At 6 by 58, the wide box press keeps the dark smoke cool and rounded over a long burn.

A darker, fuller New World for unhurried evenings, at the same honest value. A big-ring box-pressed Nicaraguan.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
