Description

The Corona Gorda gives the Perla del Mar Shade a slimmer ring and more wrapper to the blend. Made by J.C. Newman in Nicaragua, the Perla del Mar Shade Corona Gorda sets an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, box-pressed at a mild to medium body.

The narrow ring brings the wrapper forward, with cedar, cream, and a light, bready sweetness. At 5 1/2 by 46, the corona gorda is a slower, more wrapper-driven smoke.

The mild to medium body suits earlier in the day as easily as the evening. It is sold as singles or boxes of 25, so one is an easy first taste. A slim, creamy Connecticut size.

Pairs well with coffee, cream ale, or champagne.
